The best in my area

Hi, now I'm gonna talk about the best in psychology. He's Ignacio Martin-Baró. He was born in Valladolid, Spain in 1942 and died in El Salvador in 1989. He was a social psychologist, and was also a priest. He had an important role in El Salvador during 70's. He taught psychology in many universities and wrote 11 books and many scientific and cultural articles.
I think he's important to psychology because he tried very hard learning about the real problems of the people. He always stressed the importance of studying psychology in a different way, taking distance from the american perspective. I think he's the best because he wasn't just a psychology, he always cared about people and try to understand them from their life and their problems and not from a theory, he always tried to use psychology to free people from their chains.

My Career

Hi, now it's time to talk about my career. I'm studying psychology at Universidad de Chile, I'm there since 2008. I always wanted to be a psychologist, I decided to study psychology when I was in the first grade of secundary. I chose it because I wanted to work with Down's syndrome people. That decision was motivated by my brother who has Down's syndrome, and because I have seen how the people who work with them don't know how to improve their abilities.
The best thing about psychology is to have the chance of understand people's problems and have the knowledge to help them. The worst thing about my career is reading so much and sometimes reading really complicated things.
I don't have much expectations now, I want to make progress step by step. There are so many things to do with psychology, but at the moment, I don't know what I'm going to do after ending my career. There is so much time to think about it, now I just want to enjoy the present.

A photograph I like...

This is my favourite photo, is the cover of Blind Melon's album "Nico" from 1996. I don't know who took this photograph and I don't even know when and where it was taken, but I know who's the guy in the picture. He's Shannon Hoon, who was the vocalist of the band. If you look his left arm you will see a tattoo. That tattoo is a poem written by one of his ancestors in the 19th century and is part of one of their songs.

I think the photo represents calm and escape. Being more especific, it represents life's simplicity. Shannon is showing him how he really is behind the "rock n' roll mask". He's not wearing outlandish clothes, he's just wearing his ripped pants and is showing everything but his face. I think he was trying to highlight the poem, It's difficult to read it, but maybe the concept of the photo reflects better the poem or the meaning he was trying to give it.

My last summer

Hi everybody!, now it's time to talk about my last summer. Last summer I went to Algarrobo the first weeks of february. I went with my whole family (parents and two brothers), aunts, and my girlfriend Constanza.

These vacations were full of funny situations but also were moments for relaxing. Everyday we went to the city center to eat fries and chinese food. Sometimes we came down to beach with some friends that we met the last year. In one of these sunny afternoons we met a group of guys who were leasing a house nearly there, they invited us to have a party that night. Obviously, we went there that night and had a really good time with all of them, we were playing the guitar and curiosly we liked the same music. The next days were so similar, beach in the afternoon, guitar and rum in the night.

The second week started so bad, we suffered a robbery, they stole my PlayStation 2, a radio, and a pocket full of dvd's. That was the sad moment of the summer but after that we were still hanging out, every night was such a picture, with the moon reflected over the sea and my girlfriend and me (and my brother, her best friend) having and ice cream or just a cup of coffee.
